You are the muffin master - these are awesome and so adaptable. I know, because I needed to make some substitutions: almond milk instead of regular milk, honey instead of molasses (we were out of molasses) and more Splenda than the "real" sweetener. I also added 4 oz of applesauce and just bumped the flour up a bit. I added chopped apple, some chopped nuts, some raisins and, because I had them, some dried cranberries and a couple of dashes of cinnamon. They came out just fine. So fine, in fact, I made another batch immediately and froze it. This one's a keeper, for sure. Thank you so much!!

I really enjoyed these bran muffins! I originally made them for my mother, but ended up keeping the first batch for myself so I had to make her some more. I used 1 cup grape nuts cereal (didn't have bran flakes on hand), did not sour the milk, used 1/2 cup brown sugar instead of Splenda, and substituted the molasses for honey. They were wonderful :) The muffins I made are 4 points plus values if you follow Weight Watchers :)

A very good recipe. Moist, a good flavor and texture. I added 1/2 t. cinnamon, 1/4 t. nutmeg, 1/2 cup chopped walnuts and 1/2 cup golden raisins. Made 14 muffins. I made them in muffin cups and they did stick to the paper a little just FYI. Thank you for the recipe! I will be making these again.

Such a good recipe! Muffins are moist and have flavor. I didn't have wheat bran so substituted with wheat germ and worked just as good. Thank you for sharing this excellent recipe for such wonderful bran muffins.

These are fantastic! Nice texture, not heavy like other low cal muffins. I didn't have any molasses so I substituted agave syrup (reduced the amount a little). And I added "crasins" (raisins and cranberries). Really really good recipe. Thanks for posting.

These are great! Finally a decent low cal muffin recipe! Usually low cal muffins that are wholewheat and healthy are dense little bricks, but these are great. They're soft and moist. I didn't want mine too sweet so instead of molasses and splenda I used about 2 tablespoons of honey and 1 grated apple, which worked well. Next time I'm going to add some spices too. Thank you so much, this recipe is a keeper.
