Banana Bread

"This is very easy and turns out so moist and soft. We have made a healthier adaption to it which I have also posted. But really this is the best. It is my Aunt's recipe. You can add nuts to it if you like. Hope you enjoy!"

  1. Awesome! My old banana bread was tasty but dense, and the loaf was only about 2 inches tall. I was looking for a new recipe that would fill the pan & rise high, noticed the baking powder and more flour in this recipe, and sure enough it's a winner. Very tender & cakelike with great flavor...and sprinkling the top with sugar -- genius!! That made a nice sweet & crunchy top. Thank you!

  2. This was very good and very easy. My hubby, who is not a banana fan, even liked it because it was not TOO banana-y! Perfect amount of sweet and perfect amount of bananas, neither over the top. I'll be keeping this one!

  3. Very good and easy to make. I had some bananas that needed to be used and we love banana bread. I used three bananas and followed the rest of the recipe exactly as written. I have a convection oven and I cooked mine at 300 for one hour and ten minutes and it was perfect. Made for ZWT5.

  4. This is a wonderful recipe. As you said, moist and soft and very easy to put together. I added in some chocolate chips! I checked the bread after 50 mins, but the skewer didn't come out completely clean, so I baked it for another 10 minutes, which was perfect. So, it took an hour for the bread to bake for me. Thank you, Leah, for sharing your Aunt's wonderful recipe (and thank her too!), will definitely be making it again!

I love to cook, for me it is both relaxing and fun, especially when there are no time limits! I started baking when I was around 9. I began with making bread then I gradually went on to making meals. Besides cooking and baking I love to knit, paint, sew, and study languages my favorite being Arabic which maybe someday I will actually be able to speak. Most of the recipes I post are family favorites or at least my favorites. My ratings go something like this: 5 stars: Very good, I will definitely make this again. 4 stars: Liked it quite a bit and will make it again but there was either something I had to change or I will only make now and then in the future. If it is lower than these two there is something wrong with the recipe (b/c I'm not picky at all!) and I'll just leave you a comment.:) I hope you enjoy the recipes I post and thank you for your reviews!
