Great french toast that brings back childhood memories! As kids at my grandma's house, we often had a piece of bread with butter and sugar for dessert, and we always ate clear Karo syrup on our french toast. This rich and gooey treat was a tasty trip down memory lane - thanks for posting the recipe!

I not only love this recipe, I ate it as a child. We called it poor mans syurp. I raised 3 sons on my own and many was the morning this was all we had for a breakfast. I would also spread butter on bread, sprinkle it wit sugar and put it under a gas broiler to toast. My children still love it to this day. Great recipe. sandy
